A retired firefighter Al
began shooting in 1954 after his interest
was sparked by his grandfather,
an engineer on the CB&Q, and his
who was a railfan.
Al built one of the largest
train slide collections extant, and was
of his slides available
commercially for many years. He co-authored
a fine railfan
book spotlighting Al's friend
Howard Fogg's remarkable body of railroad
Al and his wife Bernadette live
in Colorado, very close to the Durango
