George's railroad career spans five decades.
As of this writing (2004) he is General Manager of both Minnesota
Northern Railroad and St. Croix Valley Railroad in Minnesota.
most active period as a rail photographer was in the late 70's
and early 80's.
During that period his duties for the Association of American
afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively in Minnesota,
the Dakotas and the Canadian Prairies.
George was often referred
to as "The Orson Welles
of the AAR"
We are told the comparison worked on many levels... photographic
impressive vocabulary, and it must be said, personal avoirdupois.
