Dick is a son of Missouri. At age 8, he
was witness to the great steam show
put on by the MoP. Later, he photographed steam from NYC to UP.
It wasn't until Dave Ingles convinced Dick that Diesels were worth
expending film on that he began documenting the colorful new machines.
Dick is a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, IL. He retired
in 1993 from a 31-year career in accounting. He even spent a few
days working as an apprentice fireman on the Wabash. One of
his most memorable rides was in the cab of a Wabash PA !
Dick is a founding member of the GM&O Historical Society,
writing a colorful book on that line as well as the C&IM.
He collects airline memorabilia and can usually be found
at transportation collectible shows all across the country.
