Andy holds a Masters degree in Communications, and is a life member of The Art Directors Club of New York, America's premier group of communications industry art directors and designers. As Senior Vice-President, Group Creative Director at J. Walter Thompson (NYC), one of the world's largest advertising agencies, he supervised the creative department responsible for Eastman Kodak as well as other national accounts. Because of this relationship and his supervision of hundreds of film projects for tv and print media, Andy knows images. He worked with many of America's most well-known commercial photographers and directors, evaluating and commissioning their work.
Andy was a long-time student and friend of Anthony Triano, Artist-in-Residence at Seton Hall University, from whom he learned to appreciate the tremendous emotional impact of iconic images.
As a life-long railfan, Andy has done some serious rail photography himself (though he has excluded himself from membership in the "Who's Who"), has written and art-directed train books, and if he had a little more spare time would probably create more of his railroad art.
